After having some problems with sluggish gear changes and one instance when none of my gears would engage I took my vehicle to Southwest Transmission. While the customer service could not have been any better or friendlier, I felt that the prices were inflated beyond belief! After leaving my vehicle overnight I was told my transmission would need to be replaced or rebuilt. I did not have the money for a brand new transmission so I chose the rebuild. That's when they told me it would be $2,200!! Needless to say I was appalled. I later found out that they do not actually rebuild transmissions at Southwest TRANSMISSION, but rather send your transmission about 50 miles towards Showlow to be rebuilt by a third party.... not only would I be paying for the mechanics at Southwest Transmission but also for the gas spent on shipping my transmission and the OTHER mechanics in Show Low who would actually be doing the rebuild. After checking around town I ended up paying $1500 for the exact same fix at Thompson's Muffler, although I believe they have changed the shops name.
I have used this shop for many years on several different jobs from minor to major. They have always done a fantastic job and went out of their way on occasion to solve some difficult problems. I highly recommend the Holbrook shop!
Stopped by this guy on the way across the country when our car started overheating. Friendly and paid attention to detail. Found the problem right away and was cordial even at 7am. Would recommend to anyone.
11 months ago my vehicle's rear end broke, and Southwest Transmission was paid to repair it. I am at this very moment stuck in a motel, nearly 800 miles from hole, with the vehicle's rear end utterly ruined. The work that Southwest Transmission did 11 months ago did not even last more than 2,300 miles!
